A Washington Post Journalist, a dismemberment murder, multiple audio and visual devices in a consulate, a wiretap into the journalist's watch, now lead to a mainstream press narrative that ends with “Who actually cares?” The authoritarian regime of Turkey, equiped with the best placed devices could not or more likely did not intervene to save the life of Jamal Khashoggi. The recordings have been seen by people from multiple intelligence agencies in multiple countries.

Yesterday, October 15th, Google announced a new partnership with privately run and partially state owned French telecom giant Orange to build a new transatlantic cable. Far from being a snub to the Brexit befuddled United Kingdom, the partnership creates a host of new surveillance opportunities in Eastern Europe, Africa, Spain and France itself. This will greatly expand Google's usefulness to global surveillance by the five eyes nations (US, UK, Australia Canada and New Zealand) through their already developing infrastructure level projects.

he denial of the right to vote to black people in the old south is barely a news story. The headline might as well read “sunrise found to historically happen before noon.” Voter suppression is one of the foundational pillars of election fraud and both major parties do it to suppress everyone to the left of them. The Democrats do it to undermine progressives (most recently in New York) and the Republicans do it to undermine anyone who is not a rapist in jackboots.

Saturday night in Portland, the fascist group Patriot Prayer, along with the usual Proud Boy hangers on and other associated groups held a rally demanding the removal of Mayor Wheeler for failing to suppress anti-police brutality protestors. They came dressed in T-shirts covered in slogans proclaiming violence and even public executions as well as the standard khakis and yellow on black polo shirts. The group then marched with police escort to a vigil being held protesting the death of Patrick Kimmons on September 30th, and immediately attacked to prevent a flag from being burned.

Is was a late night on October 12th, when the band of fascists left the Republican Club on New York's Upper East Side. They had been listening to Proud Boys and Vice Magazine Founder Gavin McGinness give a speech. His speech celebrated the anniversary of the televised assassination of Inejiro Asanuma, head of the Japanese Socialist Party, by a young nationalist with a sword. McGinness thinks televised assassinations are a good thing and he brought a sword to illustrate his point.

Terry Albury was one of the most experienced black FBI agents in the country. He is now a federal prisoner awaiting a 4 to 5 year sentence for violating the Espionage Act. He plead guilty after being caught exposing racist infiltration and surveillance tactics by the 90% white FBI against Muslim and other minority communities in Minneapolis where he worked.

Bloomberg Businessweek broke a major story today, which they split up into three articles so far, about a long term Chinese military intelligence operation that compromised the security of 30 American companies including Apple and Amazon, DoD data centers, and some CIA drone operations. The People's liberation army had somehow managed to sneak a chip with security back doors into the manufacture of servers for large data farms.

Since the Mockingbird's last article about the Yellow Springs School Board granting bullying Principal Tim Krier a golden parachute after repeated sexual assaults by his son on multiple students, the board has announced that an unnamed “outside investigator” has investigated and cleared them collectively and Superintendent Mario Basora individually of any wrongdoing. Sources have come forward with additional information for us via telephone. The sources, and their families whom they have expressed concern for the safety of will not be named.

Botham Jean, age 26, was an extraordinarily hard working man according to his coworkers at Price Waterhouse Cooper and others that knew him for his cheerful and outgoing demeanor. He was a devout church going man. Niether his family, who have hired an attorney, nor his friends and coworkers will be enjoying his company ever again.

The Mockingbird has previously reported on a nationwide campaign of work stoppages, labor strikes and hunger strikes began on August 21 in dozens of prisons. As the campaign was about enter it's third week local organizers from Black Queer Intersectional Columbus and the Incarcerated Workers Committee of the Industrial Workers World held a demonstration on September 4th outside the Franklin County Court and Jail complex on High Street.
