The weekend of August 11th-12th was billed as a second round for the so-called Alt-Right movement. It was to be a reprise of their tiki-torch adorned murderous rampage in Charlottesville with an added taking back of DC after the ever memed Richard Spencer face punch. Like many sequels, the script was cut to bits in the editing room and the actors could not be motivated out of their trailers.

Julian Assange Summoned to testify in secret before the Senate Intelligence Committee. How would that work exactly?
Today, August 8th, the Wikileaks tweeted a copy of a letter to Julian Assange signed by both ranking members of the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, Richard Burr (R-NC) and Mark Warner (D-VA) and dated August 1st. The letter, pictured below and thumbnailed at the top of this article and shown full size at the bottom, is labeled “Committee Sensitive” as if putting that at the top of a document and mailing it to the founder of Wikileaks will keep it from being leaked. Despite being a short masterpiece in political theater, it does raise some serious issues to be discussed in public.
Yesterday, August 4th, for the second time in under 40 days, Patriot Prayer and the Proud Boys marched against immigration and support of President Donald Trump. For the second time, police launched an unprovoked attack against antifascist protestors without warning but with their full arsenal of crowd control weapons. Tune 30th march by the same group attempted to use police escort to reach and attack an anti-ice encampment.
The recent electoral success of the Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) has put them in the crosshairs of both the right and the center. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has called their recent gains, including the primary upset one of her key safe house seat bootlickers "not to be viewed as something that stands for anything else.” Meanwhile the group suffered two attacks on it's open meetings and a third attack on a protest on July 27th.
The Mockingbird has received multiple tips that YSPD Chief Brian Carlson has been out “sick” for nearly for most of the last two weeks. While this is a critical time for the YSPD and leadership absent, it is not Carlson's first big break from the grind of police work during a critical time this year.
At the time that a sexual assault involving “several” Yellow Springs High School students was being reported, Brian Carlson was on vacation. The two week pay period from March 4th to 17th contained 61 out of 80 hours listed as vacation. This can be seen below.
Every question has a short answer and this case is that answer would be “likely yes and probably soon.” Assange faces imminent expulsion from the Ecuadorian embassy in London where he has been cut off from any and all communications for four months. Although charges against him in Sweden have been dropped, he still faces legal repercussions from his journalism in the United States and British authorities have the ability to hold him on rather weak bail jumping charges for seeking asylum from a now no-existent warrant.
The media eye has zeroed in on Jeff Sessions saying “lock her up” at the recent Turning Point USA high school leadership conference on July 24th. These optics focus the narrative on the Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton's leadership, and thus national electoral personality politics, rather than the fascist base building that is the real Turning Point USA. That base building is sponsored by the Devos family, and fascist is not a hyperbolic misnomer, but a key ingredient.
According to sources, one YSPD officer remarked to another “Isn't this the sort of thing we learned not to do in that ethics class?” The short answer is yes in this case. The long answer is that there is an advisory ruling from the Ohio ethics commission clearing this specific instance but the optics are horrible. YSPD Sergeant Joshuah Knapp has a second job. He is interning as a support engineer for a company called Tech Advisers. Techadvisors LLC runs all the servers for the village of Yellow Springs.
On July 8th, Congress took the first steps to make klansmen and neo-nazis a special protected class of citizen with special protection when Congressman Daniel Donovan (R-NY) introduced the “Unmasking Antifa Act of 2018.” It is currently in the House Judiciary Committee where it will lanquish while the Democratic Party is done pretending to fight Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee. With the business of the House cleared of performances, the bill will then move forward.
While the nation was busy tormenting pets with loud explosions and dishing out salmonella under umbrellas, the Department of Homeland Security was securing the homeland from traitors who think that brown people are human. As the wave of blockades and occupations of the #OccupyICE and #FreeOurFuture expanded to include 12 cities the crackdown came to three of those cities in 2 days. At all three the Department of Homeland Security brought it's own riot squad, called DHS tactical, and then got assistance from local police.
